LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Belhaven Softball team dropped one spot to #5 in the latest NFCA Division III poll released on Tuesday morning. The NFCA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll is selected by 10 NCAA Division III head coaches representing the 10 NCAA regions. The Blazers are currently 20-3 overall and 13-2 in American Southwest Conference play.  

The Blazers went 2-1 since last week's rankings with their only loss being to #25 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru in Belton, Texas. The Blazers dropped the first game of the series before grabbing the final two games of the series to take the series over #25 UMHB.

On the season the Blazers hold eight wins over opponents who were ranked in the Top 25 at the time of the contest with two over #4 ETBU and a win over #1 ranked DePauw. As it stands now ETBU remains in the Top 10 at #7 while DePauw has dropped to #10. Meanwhile Berry who was ranked #17 at the time of the Blazers' 12-7 win now find themselves in the #13 spot. Trine, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and St. John Fisher are the Blazers' other Top 25 wins that have now dropped out of the rankings.

The Blazers will return to action on Friday, April 1 against the McMurry University Warhawks on the road in Abilene, Texas. The first pitch of the doubleheader on Friday will be at 3:00 p.m. and will play the final game of the series on Saturday, April 2 at 12:00 p.m.
