Box Score JACKSON, Miss. – The Blazers dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Piedmont on Saturday night. Belhaven concludes the regular season at 6-6-5 (1-3-2 CCS).
Both teams had a couple of opportunities in the first 45 minutes, but neither team could break through as it was scoreless heading into the break. Belhaven fired 11 shots but only had two on goal in the first half.
At halftime, former Belhaven Soccer greats were recognized for their inductions into the Belhaven Athletics Hall of Fame. Former coaches Peter Fuller and Brian McMahon were honored for their incredible accomplishments when they were at the helm of the men's program. Once the 2022 edition of Belhaven Men's Soccer returned to the field, the defensive battle from the first half resumed. However, the Lions were able to score the game's first goal in the 61st minute. The Blazers went on the attack for the rest of the contest, but the home team was unable to find the equalizer.
