JACKSON, Miss. - Senior Dalton Morgan of the Belhaven Men's Soccer team was named the C Spire Athlete of the Week on September 15th.

Morgan and the Blazers went 1-0 over the past week, knocking off former American Southwest Conference rival, Louisiana College on Tuesday night. The Ellisville, Miss. native scored twice for Belhaven against the Wildcats in the 2-1 win.

The forward's first strike came in the 20th minute when Morgan picked up the ball in the Blazers' half of the field and drove forward at the Wildcats' backline. Morgan then found Brady Jacobs who played a pass straight back to Morgan who hit it first time from over 20 yards out to beat the keeper.

Morgan added his second and the eventual winner in the 51st minute capitalizing on a rebound off the post from an attempt by Brady Jacobs. 

With the goals, Morgan ups his career tally to 13 goals in 27 matches which also is the leading mark since he joined the Blazers from Jones College prior to the 2019 season.

Morgan and the Blazers will travel to Shreveport, La. on September 17th to face Centenary College. Kick off is set for 7:30 PM.
