RICHARDSON, Texas – Belhaven University men's soccer player Ian Requilman and women's soccer player Ashley Langham were named ASC Scholar Athlete Medal of Honor recipients.

The ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor is presented to one male and one female of the graduating class who has compiled the most outstanding record in academics, athletics, and leadership over their collegiate career. The award is presented annually by the Faculty Athletics Representative at each conference member institution.

Ian was a four-year leader for the men's soccer program, earning 51 starts in 55 appearances. The Plano, Texas native posted 3,518 minutes of his career with 4 goals scored and 3 assists. He provided consistency and stability in the Blazers' lineup as the team earned ASC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament berths in the University's first two years eligible for postseason. Requilman was active in community service through Tops Soccer and In His Steps Ministries and worked internships at Jackson –Area CPA firms to enhance his educational experience. He is also a Dean's List student and finished his undergraduate degree with a 3.68 GPA. Ian is now pursuing his MBA at Belhaven University while studying for his CPA exam.

Ashley joined the women's soccer program following a two-year stint at East Mississippi Community College, immediately establishing herself as a leader both on and off the field. Twice selected by her teammates as captain, Langham led teams who earned berths in the ASC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament in the University's first two years of active NCAA membership (2019-20, 2020-21). Those two squads finished with back-to-back winning seasons, a first for the program since 2008-2009. She was selected as Second Team ASC All-Conference and was named ASC Player of the Week in 2019 following her hat trick performance in an OT win versus Huntingdon College. Over the course of her career, she recorded 12 goals and five assists in 2,547 minutes. She is also a Dean's List student and completed her undergraduate degree with a 3.86 GPA.
