RICHARDSON, Texas - For the fourth time in the 2021 season, sophomore Kennedy Carruth has been named the American Southwest Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week for her efforts for the Belhaven University Softball team in their weekend series against Howard Payne University.

Carruth went 2-0 over the series drawing starts in the first and third games. She pitched 14 innings allowing two runs, one earned, with six hits, three walks, and 19 strikeouts. Carruth struck out 13 in the series opener and six in game three, both 2-1 victories. At the plate, Carruth batted .444 (4-for-9) with three doubles, one home run, four RBI, and one run scored.

On the season, Carruth has a 9-2 overall record with one save and nine complete games. Carruth has an era of 1.59 with 66 innings pitched allowing 18 runs, 15 earned, on 45 hits with 19 walks and 87 strikeouts. At the plate, she carries a .333 batting average with 11 doubles one home run, and ten RBI.

Carruth and the rest of the Blazers return to action on the road with a series against the Sul Ross State University Lobos. The series will start with a doubleheader on Friday, March 26, with first pitch set for 2 p.m.
