JACKSON, Miss. – Due to the cancellation of the spring sports season, Belhaven is spotlighting our spring senior class over the next few weeks. Our first senior spotlight for the 2020 Belhaven Softball team is four-year player
Marlee Blackwell.
Marlee began her Blazers career in 2017 and across her four season she has played in 121 total games starting in 104. Marlee has a career batting average of .367, with 70 RBIs and 124 hits. Marlee has a career on-base percentage .437, slugging percentage of .546, and a .980 fielding percentage playing both infield and outfield for the Blazers.
The Louin, Mississippi native was off to a hot start for the 2020 season as through 17 games, she was second on the team in batting average (.415), RBIs (14), plate appearances (53), hits (22), and triples (1). Marlee was tied for the team lead in doubles with six while also having one home run with nine walks and one hit-by-pitch, while also featuring an on-base percentage of .500 and slugging percentage of .623. Marlee is also a two-time member of the ASC Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference team.
Marlee has the seventh best career fielding percentage mark at .980, tied for the seventh-best career batting average at .362, tied for fourth in career doubles with 32, and is tied for seventh in career triples with three.
