CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Belhaven women's tennis team's 2017 season came to an end on Tuesday afternoon after suffering a 5-2 loss to Bluefield College at Campbellsville University in the semifinals of the NCCAA Mideast Regional.
Belhaven ends the 2017 season with a 14-6 overall record.
The Green and Gold tallied only one win in doubles action as Ivanna Echezuria and Jandayia Lubin won 8-4 at the No. 1 spot.
Alexandria Furdge and Caroline Terry were defeated 8-2 at No. 2 doubles, and the Blazers also dropped No. 3 doubles, as Madeline Wurster and Jabreann Thigpen were edged 8-3.
Bluefield won four out of the six singles matches, as both Echezuria and Wurster's matches went unfinished at No. 1 and 6 singles respectively.
Terry posted the only Blazer victory in singles play. The senior rallied to win in three sets after losing 6-0 in the opening set. She claimed the second and third sets by scores of 6-3, 6-4.
Lubin fell at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2, and Mary Lichlyter dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision in the third slot. Furdge faltered 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
