CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - The Belhaven women's tennis team swept the Ozarks 9-0 over the weekend on the road. The Blazers were also scheduled to face East Texas Baptist, but the match was cancelled due to rain. With the win, Belhaven improves to and ends the regular season with a 14-5 record.
In doubles play, Ivanna Echezuria and Jandayia Lubin won easily at the No. 1 spot, 8-2. Caroline Terry and Alexandria Furdge compiled an 8-0 decision at No. 2 doubles, while Mary Lichlyter and Ellen Scott won by default at No. 3 doubles.
Echezuria is now 13-0 in singles play after rolling 6-1, 6-1 at the top spot. Lubin won at the second slot with a 6-0, 7-6 victory, and Lichlyter improved to 9-0 in singles action this season after posting a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles. Terry and Scott each won decisively at No. 4 and 5 singles with 6-0, 6-0 victories, and Furdge won by default.
