JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven women's soccer team travels to LaGrange, Ga. on Thursday, Sept. 8, to take on the LaGrange College Panthers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
Both the Blazers and the Panthers will be looking for their first win of the young 2016 season on Thursday. Belhaven has dropped home matches to Centenary College and Birmingham-Southern College while LaGrange fell to Georgia Southwestern at home and suffered a road defeat at Life University.
Belhaven's loss to Birmingham Southern was a 2-1 double overtime defeat. The Panthers game-winning goal came with just 13 second remaining in the second overtime.
Belhaven newcomers
Alex Trammel and
Dominique Farias combined for the the team's first goal of the season versus Birmingham Southern, with the freshman Trammel recording her first collegiate goal and sophomore transfer Farias collecting her first assist as a Blazer.
Thursday's match will be the first ever meeting between the Belhaven and LaGrange women's soccer programs. The Blazers currently hold a 13-13-1 all-time record against institutions from Georgia.
