JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven Blazers Women's Tennis team picked up three wins on Saturday, earning an 8-1 victory over Tougaloo, before winning over Rust College in a doubleheader 7-0 and 6-0.
 
The Blazers jumped out to a 3-0 lead over the Bulldogs of Tougaloo with a sweep of doubles play. AnneMarie Kimball and Natalia Lopez led the way as the got back to their winning ways with a 8-0 defeat of Val Bonds and Tara Rowell.
 
Four of the six singles matches were 6-0, 6-0 victories, including wins from Kimball, Ivanna Echezuria, and Mary Lichlyter.
 
Belhaven followed up the Tougaloo match with two wins against the Bearcats of Rust College.
 
Kimball and Brittany Keeling started off the first doubles match by defeating Julie Baptiste and TaQuayia Harris 8-0. Kimball then paired with Caroline Terry in the second doubles match to defeat Baptiste and Harris 8-0.
 
Kimball, Lichlyter, and Ellen Scott all picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles play in the first doubleheader.
 
In the second doubleheader, Echezuria earned a 6-0, 6-0 win and Taylor White won 6-1, 6-0.
