JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven Women's Tennis team split its doubleheader with Christian Brothers and Xavier University of Louisiana on Friday.
 
The Blazers opened up the day with a 9-0 shutout victory of Christian Brothers.

AnneMarie Kimball and Natalia Lopez defeated Lauren Woog and Rachel Farmer 8-2 in number one singles.

Ivanna Echezuria and Mary Lichlyter also had an easy run through doubles, defeating Melody Mays and Tyler Napier. 8-1

Brittany Keeling and Ellen Scott had the closest doubles match, defeating Rebecca Johnston and Hailey McKinney 8-4 

Kimball and Keeling had the closest decisions in the singles matches. Kimball defeated Woog 6-4, 7-5, while Keeling knocked off Mays 7-6, 7-5.
 
In the second match, the Blazers jumped out a 2-1 lead after doubles, but fell to Xavier 3-5.
 
Kimball and Lopez defeated Charlene Goreau and Brandi Nelson 8-4. Echezuria and Lichlyter also won, defeating Tess Guarino and Jana van der Walt 8-5.
 
Natalia Lopez had the only victory in singles play, defeating Nelson 6-3, 6-2.
