JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Women's Tennis team dropped their first match of the 2016 season to Jackson State 5-2 Saturday afternoon at the Jackson State Tennis Facility.
Although the Blazers (2-1) did not secure a point in singles, they did collect two points in doubles.
At No. 1 doubles,
AnneMarie Kimball and
Natalia Lopez were forced to a tiebreak, but edged out Ana Zviahintseva and Bright Phakamad 7-6.
At No. 2 doubles,
Ivanna Echezuria and
Mary Lichlyter took the match against Julia Angermannand Daria Butorina 6-4.
Of the six singles matches, four were forced to three sets.
Belhaven returns to action on Tuesday at Millsaps. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
