JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Men's Soccer Team gear up for its final match of the three-match homestand against rival William Carey Wednesday night at the Belhaven Bowl.
The Blazers (3-1-1) are coming off their first weekend in American Southwest Conference play, where the Blazers went winless on the weekend (0-1-1). Both matches went into overtime, a first in Belhaven history since 2013. Since 2000, the Blazers are 10-9-11 in overtime matches. Thursday's draw with the Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru was the first home draw since October 30, 2010 against William Carey, where the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
William Carey (4-3-1) comes back to Jackson looking to extend a three-game winning streak against the Blazers, as the Crusaders lead the series 15-11-3.
Belhaven returns to the road with back- to-back matches on Friday and Saturday. The Blazers will take on McMurry on Friday and Hardin-Simmons on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Belhaven returns home on Wednesday, September 30 to battle with rival Millsaps. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Belhaven Bowl.
