MOBILE, Ala. – The Belhaven Women's Tennis team fell to the College of Coastal Georgia 5-0 in the opening round of the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Blazers were unable to pick up a victory in the first five matches Friday afternoon, ending the quarterfinals match early.
In doubles action,
AnneMarie Kimball and
Stephanie Smith had the closest match of the day, falling 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles match.
Mary Lichlyter and
Rachel Jefcoat fell 8-1 in their doubles match, while
Ashley McLendon and
SaraCaroline Kimball fell 8-0.
In singles action, Jefcoat and McLendon were the only Blazers to finish their singles matches. Jefcoat fell in No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-3, while McLendon fell 6-0, 6-1.
The loss puts the Blazers at 13-8 on the season.
