JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven Men's Soccer team prepares for homecoming weekend, as they host the Ozarks on Thursday and UT-Tyler on Saturday in its final regular season homestand.
Belhaven (8-3-1) returned to the NSCAA/NCCAA Division I Poll this week in 10th thanks to a sweep against East Texas Baptist and LeTourneau, both by one goal.
This weekend, the Blazers will face off with Ozarks (5-4-2, 2-2-0) and UT-Tyler (6-2-1, 4-0-0) for the first time in program history. This is the third and fourth teams, respectively, that the Blazers will face for the first time that are in conference play.
Belhaven is 20-6 against institutions from the state of Arkansas, and will face an institution from the Natural State for the fourth time this decade.
Belhaven will look to obtain its 40th win against the state of Texas with a win against UT-Tyler (39-24-3). Only three other states have more than 40 wins: Tennessee (55), Mississippi (58) and Alabama (70).
On Saturday, the Blazers will honor their seniors for Senior Night.
Thursday's match is slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff, while Saturday's match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
