JACKSON, Miss.- The Belhaven women's tennis team defeated cross-town foe Tougaloo College 5-0 in only singles matches on Wednesday evening and improved to 12-6 on the season.

Stephanie Smith defeated Symone Booth 6-0, 6-0 in the No.1;
Ainsley Wright defeated Tara Rowell 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 2; Katie Campbell knocked off Valenda Bonds 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 3;
Rachel Jefcoat topped Lauren Mitchell 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4,
Mary Lichlyter defeated Sakaharne Jones 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5.

The final singles court and the doubles portion of the match were not contested.

"This win was a good rebound for our close match with Mobile," said Head Coach
Levi Patton. Â "It was good to get back on the court and generate some momentum heading in the Southern States Athletic Conference Championships."

The Blazers will travel to Montgomery, Ala. for the annual SSAC tournament April 25
