JACKSON, Miss., The 8th ranked Belhaven men's tennis team hosted Rust College at the Belhaven Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon and came away with two victories. The Blazers prevailed 9-0 in match one and rolled to another shutout in match two 5-0. Belhaven in now 10-3 overall and has won four out of five contests at home this season.

In match one of the afternoon, the Blazers validated their top ten ranking with a stifling 9-0 decision. In both matches, the Blazers swept the board in both singles and doubles.

In singles, the Blazer's Andre Borghi stated things off in the No.1 spot with a 6-0, 6-0 route over J. Boyd. Nikita Lisov, Andres Yepez , Lachlan Puyol, Tomas Ojeda, and Alex Puyol all picked up 6-0 victories for the Blazers.

In doubles, the Blazers notches 8-0 victories on all three doubles courts. The Blazer's No. 3 team of Jefferson Nino and Daniel Prado knocked off the Bearcat's team of Griffin/Franks. The Belhaven duo of Andre Borghi and Enrico Patriarca defeated the Bearcat's team of J. Griffin and Ham. On the No. 1 court, David Mejia and Nikita Lisov topped Boyd and Beasley.

In match two of the day, the Blazers picked up where they left off after match one. The Blazer's No. 1 Andre Borghi bested J. Boyd 6-0, 6-0. In the only other single's match, the Blazer' s No. 2 Nikita Lisov defeated the Bearcat's K. Beasly 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, David Mejia teamed up with Nikita Lisov to defeat Boyd and Beasly 8-0. Andre Borghi and Enrico Patriarca flew past J. Griffin and Ham 8-0 while Jefferson Nino and Daniel Prado bested Griffin and Franks 8-0in the final doubles match of the evening.

Belhaven will be back in action on Friday March 21st at William Carey University for a Southern States Athletic Conference contest at 3:00 PM.
