Box Score Box Score

MOBILE, Ala. – The Belhaven women's soccer program saw their season come to a close on Saturday, falling 5-0 to the University of Mobile in the Southern States Athletic Conference quarterfinals. The Blazers finish 2014 at 4-12-0 overall, including a 1-7-0 mark against SSAC teams.

Mobile's Tyler-Rae Malloy and Katie Compton entered the contest two of the SSAC's top five scorers this season, and Belhaven found a way to keep both of the from finding the back of the net. The Blazers trailed just 1-0 at the half after Cayla Herbert scored in the 33rd minute of play, but the Lady Ram attack proved to be too much in the second half.

Saskia Adriance, Rachel Forestell, and Kelsey Pope each added a goal in the second half, while Herbert sent another shot over the head of Belhaven keeper Nicole Walsh. The senior goalie finished her night with nine saves, extending her school record in that category.

With the win, Mobile improved to 14-2-2 and remained unbeaten in their last nine contests against SSAC teams. The Lady Rams will play for the SSAC semifinals next weekend.
