Box Score Box Score

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Belhaven men's soccer program saw their season come to a close on Saturday, falling 3-1 to Auburn-University Montgomery in the Southern States Athletic Conference quarterfinals. The Blazers finish 2014 at 11-6-0 overall, including a 4-4 mark against SSAC teams.

Belhaven got on the scoreboard first on Saturday after Jose Presti connected with Victor Lawrence in the game's 20th minute to give the visitors their only lead. Lawrence's eight goals this season are good enough for best on the team.

Niklas Hunald fired the equalizer nine minutes later, and teammate Lukas Metzinger sent the team to the locker room with a 2-1 halftime lead. Yannic Fallack added the finishing touch in the 76th minute to help his team advance to the SSAC semifinals next week.

Daniel Prado picked up four saves 74 minutes in the net for the Blazers, while Warhawk counterpart Stephen Ingram recorded two saves after allowing the lone Belhaven goal. AUM claimed a 5-1 edge in corner kicks, while also taking a slight 12-11 advantage in shots, including a 7-3 mark on frame.

The 14th-ranked Warhawks have now won five straight contests and stand at 13-4-1, including a 5-2-1 record in the SSAC. The NAIA National Championship Game has featured four different SSAC schools in the last two seasons.
