MONTGOMERY, Ala. –
The Belhaven Blazers Football team dropped the final road game of the 2014 season losing to No. 4 Faulkner University 55-14 on Saturday at BD Hilyer Stadium.

Two Belhaven turnovers turned into immediate touchdowns for Faulkner, as the Eagles put up 42 first half points on the Blazers, handing the Green and Gold its seventh straight loss.

After Faulkner used a two-play, 57-yard drive to take the lead, Belhaven handed the Eagles its second touchdown with a fumble by quarterback Eric Mosley that was scooped up and returned 40 yards for a score.

Faulkner then intercepted a Belhaven pass on the next drive and returned it to the 10-yard line. Three plays later, Faulkner turned it into another seven points. Faulkner would go on to add one more score in the first quarter, leading Belhaven 28-0 after 15 minutes.

In the second quarter, Belhaven looked to have the offense moving. But, a fumble by Quran Hasan, after a completed catch, ended a promising drive and turned into another immediate touchdown as Faulkner returned the fumble 52 yards for a touchdown.

Later in the second quarter, Belhaven caught a break by forcing a Faulkner turnover after the Eagles had just blocked a Blazers punt. However, two plays later, another Belhaven fumble gave the ball back to Faulkner and the Eagles ensuing drive led to another touchdown and a 42-0 lead that was carried into the break.

In the third quarter, Belhaven would get on the scoreboard with a pair of touchdown passes, but not before Faulkner struck again, as the Eagles returned the kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown to go up 48-0 after a missed extra point.

Brian Ensminger came in at quarterback and orchestrated an eight play, 67-yard drive that was capped off by a 14-yard touchdown pass from Ensminger to Greg Livingston.

Livingston had a record-setting day for the Blazers as his seven catches gave the senior the most catches by a Blazer in a single season, passing Michael King's 86 catches in 2003. Livingston currently stands at 92 catches on the year with two games remaining.

Later in the third quarter, Ensminger threw his second touchdown of the game, connecting with Lamiquell Roberts on a 15-yard play, cutting the deficit to 48-14.

Faulkner would go on to add one more score in the fourth quarter.

Belhaven finished with seven turnovers in the game, three interceptions and four fumbles. The Blazers were held to just 161 yards passing, their lowest total of the season. Belhaven finished with 117 yards on the ground.

The Blazers will now return home for the final two games of the season. Belhaven will host Pikeville on November 8 in the next game. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at H.T. Newell Field.
