GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Facing a top-ranked team for the second time in as many weeks, Belhaven met their match in a 9-0 loss to No. 1 Brenau. The Golden Tigers showed their might across the board with the Blazers only chance at a point coming at third doubles.
 
Brenau kicked off the match by winning first and second doubles 8-1 and 8-0 respectively. However, Belhaven's third doubles duo of Savannah Zachry and Shelley Munn went toe-to-toe with the highly-ranked Golden Tigers.
 
Zachry and Munn has been one of the toughest outs in conference play all year long and that trend continued on Friday afternoon. Fearless, the combo battled to a tied at seven games apiece and never looked phased by whatever Brenau threw at them.
 
In the end, the Golden Tigers were able to gut out a 9-7 victory at the third flight to sweep the doubles competition.
 
Belhaven did not fare much better in singles play, dropping all six matches in straight sets.
 
The Blazers have a week off before an action packed weekend next week with matches against Louisiana College, Loyola and Tougaloo.
