JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven men's tennis team completed a season sweep with local Division I product Jackson State on Wednesday afternoon. Belhaven dominated in the back half of the lineups to take a 6-3 win over the visiting Tigers.
Jefferson Nino continued a great week by winning both of his matches. He teamed up with
Daniel Duarte at second doubles to defeat Jackson State 8-2. Nino also won his No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-2 against Herman Geria.
Belhaven's third doubles team,
Enrico Patriarca and
Daniel Prado, breezed through their match, 8-3, to give the Blazers their second point of the match. Patriarca followed up the doubles performance by blanking his opponent at fifth singles 6-0, 6-0.
The Tigers were able to manage wins at first doubles (9-7), first singles (3-6, 6-3, 10-7) and third singles (6-2, 6-4).
Andres Yepez did not drop a game at sixth singles to finish off the win for the Blazers.
