JACKSON, Miss – The No. 23 ranked Belhaven women's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season with a nine match sweep against Tougaloo College on Saturday afternoon. The Blazers playing at home for the first time this season enjoyed strong performances from all seven of their starters to defeat the Lady Bulldogs.
 
All three Belhaven doubles teams breezed past Tougaloo 8-0 to grab a quick 3-0 lead in the match.
 
Natalia Krier, Savannah Zachry and Shelley Munn all won 6-0, 6-0 at the third, fourth and fifth singles spots to hand the Blazers the match. Once the match had been decided, the other three singles matches were played as eight-game pro-sets with Tougaloo having already played a match against Spillman College earlier in the morning.
 
Ashley McLendon, Indi Mire and Elizabeth Chrestman dropped only four games between them to give the Blazers the clean sweep against the Bulldogs.
