MONTGOMERY, AL- The Belhaven Women's Tennis team lost in the opening round of the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament against William Carey 5-0 on Friday morning in Montgomery, AL.

In the singles matches, Indy Mire was defeated by #24 Maja Vuzem in two sets 6-0, 6-1. Senior Rachel Earnheart lost in two set against Malion Collin, 6-2 and 6-0. Four of the Blazers Anna Arreygue, Savanah Zachry, Natalie Krier, and Mary Carol Kewit did not finish their single matches.

In the doubles competition, the Blazers lost their three confrontations. Arreygue/Earnheart got beat by Orna/Oliviera 8-2. Zachry/Shelley Munn lost to Spruch/Vuzem 8-2, while Krier/Mire was defeated by Pesic/Collin 8-3.

This match ends the season for the Belhaven women's tennis team with a 14-7 overall record.
