Box Score
Mobile, AL- The Belhaven men's soccer team improved their record to 2-0 in Spring Hill's “Classic on the Hill” tournament defeating Texas College Friday night 11-0 and followed that up by dropping Lyon College (Ark.) 8-0 Saturday afternoon. The win gives the Blazers a 2-0 start on the season and for the consecutive year in a row the Blazers start the season 2-0.

Belhaven (2-0) got things going early in the contest thanks to a goal off the foot of Achille Campion who was assisted by Guilherme Brandao in the 5th minute. In the 12th minute Lyon College picked up a foul resulting in a penalty kick as the Blazers Guilherme Brandao picked up the goal. Brandao then connected with his 2nd consecutive goal at the 13th minute mark. Greg Hartley then assisted Achille Campion for a Blazer goal in the 14th minute extending the advantage to 4-0. It's very rare to see an assist by the goalie, but that's exactly what happened on Saturday when Hartley setup the shot by Campion. Will Monsour then had back to back goals with one in the 34th minute and another in the 42nd minute as Alexander Wallin gained the assists. Monsour's goal would end the half with the Blazers having a 6-0 edge.

The next Blazer goal didn't come until late in the half in the 72nd minute off the foot of Achille Campion giving him a hat trick with his third goal of the contest. Campion is the 2nd Blazer player to earn a hat trick; Will Monsour connected on three goals against Texas Collehe the previous contest. In the last 10 minutes of the match, Alexander Marquis turned in a goal to finish the score off at 8-0. As a team, the Blazers outshot the Scotts 27-8 and fired in eight goals.
The Blazers were led by Campion who connected on three goals from six shot attempts. Brandao and Monsour turned in two goals apiece for the Blazers. Alexander Marquis also found the back of the net with a goal.

Lyon College (0-1) attempted eight shot attempts two on which were on-goal, but couldn't find the mark on any of them.

Blazer goalie Greg Hartley got the start at the net playing all 90 minutes as he pitched his second shutout while collecting two saves. The Scots started Thomas Guarino who turned in all 90 minutes giving up eight goals with nine saves.

In just two matches, Belhaven has powered in 19 goals and has had two individual hat tricks. Monsour has five goals and 11 points followed by Campion with five goals and 10 points. Both players have each had great starts to the season.

Check out the Blazers back in action on September 10 in the Belhaven Bowl for their opening home game of the season against East Texas Baptist University. Kickoff is slated for 3:00 PM.
