Mobile, AL- The Belhaven women's soccer team fought hard, but fell short to 9th ranked University of Mobile 4-1 Tuesday night in Mobile. After hanging with the Rams in the first half, the Blazers couldn't muster up enough offense in the second half to keep pace.

Mobile (11-2-1, 7-1 SSAC) struck first in the contest on a goal by Brianna Simmons in the 6th minute. Rebecca Onterno answered with a score in the 35th minute and Christin Kaim claimed the assist on the play that knotted the score up at 1-1. Both teams headed into the locker room with the score deadlocked at 1-1.

Within the opening minute of the second half (45th), the Rams posted their second goal thanks to Kassie Ruff giving Mobile the 2-1 advantage. Ruff would go on to score two more goals, one in the 70th minute mark, and another in the 74th minute which gave the Rams and solid lead. Ruff posted the last three Ram goals and earned herself a hat trick as well helping her team in the 4-1 victory over the Blazers.

The University of Mobile outshot the Blazers 25-6. Belhaven (5-8-1, 3-5 SSAC) was led on offense by Rebecca Ontero who had two shot attempts, and a goal which was her team leading 11th of the season. Chelsea DeLeon also had two shot attempts for the Blazers, both of which were on goal. Kassie Ruff led the Rams with eight shot attempts including the three goals. Brianna Simmons turned in the other goal for the Rams.
Nicole Walsh suffered the loss allowing four goals with seven saves. Lorna Brownile gained the win for the Rams giving up one goal and earning three saves.

The Blazers will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Spring Hill College at H.T. Newell Field. Game time is slated for 5:00 PM. Also, Saturday's contest is Belhaven's “Kick it to Cancer” match where all proceeds will be donated to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
