Blazers Fall at #4 Mobile

Mobile, AL- The Belhaven men's soccer suffered their second loss of the season at fourth ranked University of Mobile 3-1 Tuesday night.  The loss drops the Blazers season record to 11-2 and 6-2 in Southern States Athletic Conference play.

In the first half, neither team could find the back of the net and after 45 minutes the match remained scoreless. The Rams were able to score first of their three goals when Gunnar Steindorsson shot on past goalkeeper Greg Hartley in the 59th minute. A minute later, Deshorn Brown connected for a goal giving the Rams a 2-0 advantage. The Blazers finally got on the board on Will Monsour's eighth goal of the season in the 79th minute cutting the lead to one.  Deshorn Brown then added an insurance tally with his second goal of the contest in the 80th minute essentially solidifying the Rams 3-1 victory.

Belhaven was led by Will Monsour who had four shot attempts; three were on goal and one counted for a score. Achille Campion and Guilhereme Sousa followed Monsour in attempts with two apiece.
Deshorn Brown led the Rams in the contest with six shot attempts, four on goal and two goals scored. Gunnar Steindorsson scored the Rams other goal.

Goal keeper Greg Hartley is charged with his second loss of the season giving up two goals while earning seven saves. Kyle Buxton picks up the win for the Rams giving up one goal with four saves. 

The Blazers will look to get back on track on Saturday as they take on Spring Hill College. Game time is slated for 7:30 pm at H.T. Newell Field. Saturday's contest is Belhaven's  “Kick it to Cancer” match where all proceeds will be donated to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
