Blazers Shutout by Harding University

Searcy, Arkansas-The Belhaven Women's soccer team traveled to face NCAA Division II Harding University Friday night and were shut out by the final score of 5-0. The loss brings the Blazers record on the season to 1-7-1. Harding University outshot the Blazers 22-7 with 11 shots on goal while the Blazers were held to three shots on goal.

In the first half the Blazers fought hard until the nine minute mark when a foul was committed by the Blazers leading to a penalty kick by Harding University (5-6-1) resulting in a goal for the Bisons. The goal came off the foot of Brianna Meek. The second goal of the night came from Harding on a shot by Paola Eusse who was assisted by Sabrina Burch at the 11 minute mark of the first half. Paola Eusse rounded out the first half scoring Harding's third goal and her second of the night in the 45th minute and was assisted by Brianna Meek on the score.

Harding struck early in the second half scoring again in the 49th minute thanks to a shot by Paola Eusse that found the back of the net. In the 51st minute, Meghan Przeczeweski drove home the Bisons fifth goal of the game with Adriana Luca and Brianna Meek getting the assists. The Blazers were led on the night by Christin Kaim who had three shots with two of them on goal. Sarai Long got the start in the net for the Blazers and turned in two saves. Kelli Brewer subbed in for Long at the 11:02 mark and made four saves on the night. Long suffered the loss for the Blazers and goes to 1-4-1 on the season. Chelsea Hornbeck got the start in net for Harding splitting minutes with Hannah Douglass with 45:00 each. Hornbeck clocked in one save while Douglass turned in two on the night and Hornbeck will get credited for the win.

The Blazers will be back action on Saturday as they travel to take on Lyon College. The kickoff is slated for 4:00 PM.
