Jackson, MS- The Belhaven women's soccer team was defeated by the University of Mobile Tuesday afternoon at H. T. Newell field in their first Southern States Athletic Conference game of the season 3-0. The Blazers are now 1-9-1 on the season and 0-1-0 in conference play.
The University of Mobile (7-4-1, 1-0-0) managed to out shoot the Blazers 25-3 with fourteen shots on goal while the Blazers had just two shots on goal. Missy Stovall kicked in the Rams first goal at the 14:59 mark. The Rams next goal came off the foot of Rebekah Counce at the 21:26 mark with the assist given to Anna Maddox. Cheryl Edgar rounded out the Rams scoring on a goal that found the back of the net with only 10 seconds remaining in the contest. Mary Lippa got credit for the assist on the goal.

Christin Kaim who had the only two shots on goal in the game for Belhaven.
Kelli Brewer got the start in the net clocking all 90 minutes for the Blazers while making 11 saves. However, Brewer suffered her fifth loss by allowing all three goals and drops to 0-5 in net this season. For the Rams, Loma Brownlie got the start in net clocking in all 90 minutes and had two saves on the day bringing her season record to 7-4-1.
The Blazers will be back in action on the road at Spring Hill College in another SSAC contest Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:30 PM.
