Batesville, AK- The Belhaven Women's soccer team traveled to Lyon College Saturday afternoon and the Blazers were defeated 6-0. Belhaven has lost their last two matches and are now 1-8-1 in 2010. Lyon College managed to outshoot the Blazers 22-10 with 16 shots on goal while the Blazers attempted seven shots on goal.
In the first period Lyon College (7-3-1) struck first off the foot of Anja Klotzle in the 40th minute of the contest. Katie Marshall scored Lyon College's second goal in the 25th minute and was assisted by Creecia Nuckols on the shot. Creecia Nuckols kicked in Lyon's next goal and the last one before the half in the 24th minute. She was assisted by Anja Klotzle.
Lyon continued to pile up the goals in the second half as Anja Kloztlze found the back of the net in the 51st minute. Lyon College struck again off the foot of Cethlinn Cunningham who was assisted by Anja Kloztlze in the 72nd minute and Cunningham immediately followed with another goal a few seconds later to close out the scoring.

Nicole Williams who attempted three shots with two on goal.
Kelli Brewer got the start in net for the Blazers turning in ten saves, but gave up all six goals and suffered the loss as she falls to 0-4. Erica Cox started in the net for Lyon College clocking in seven saves while the win carries her season record to 7-3-1.
The Blazers will be back in action on Tuesday October 12 as the return home to H.T. Newell field to take on the University of Mobile in SSCA conference action. Kickoff is slated for 2:00 P.M.
