Jackson, MS-With one half of soccer in the books and Belhaven up 1-0, the rain and lighting wiped out the final 45 minutes of Saturday's women's soccer contest with East Texas Baptist University. The match will not count due to the fact that less than 70 minutes were played and there are no plans to make the game up.
Sarah Benson had scored the only goal of the match in the 28th minute on a free kick following an ETBU foul. With 57 seconds gone by in the second half, the rain and lightning stopped the match and play could not be resumed.
The Lady Blazers will be back in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Louisiana College for a non-conference contest that is slated to begin at 5:00PM.
