McKenzie, TN-The Belhaven women's soccer team ran into tough competition Saturday afternoon losing to Bethel College by a final score of 1-0. The Blazers are now 4-3-1 on the season.
The lone goal of the contest was scored about seven minutes into the game when Bethel's (2-3-1) Maryse Beauregard broke away from the Belhaven defense and go the the ball past goalie
Jessica Eggold. The assist went to Kelly-Jade Whelen and Morgan Heitel for the Wildcats. The Blazers attempted 24 shots, but could not find the back of the net against Bethel goalkeeper Jackie Gardner who made 15 saves. Eggold picked up four saves in the contest for Belhaven.
Belhaven will return to action on Wednesday when they hit the road to battle the Lady Badgers of Spring Hill College in a conference contest beginning at 4:00 PM in Mobile, AL.
