Blazers Tie CBU in 2 OT

Memphis, TN-The Belhaven women's soccer team traveled to Christian Brothers University Saturday afternoon and battled the Bucs to a 3-3 double overtime tie. Belhaven is now 5-4-3 on the season while Christian Brothers University is 6-4-1 on the season.
                        
In the first half, Belhaven jumped on the scoreboard first as Dana Sullivan scored in the 17th minute with an assist from Krista Brizeno. The goal gives Sullivan a total of three goals on the season. The Blazers scored again quickly as Nicole Trawick recorded an unassisted goal just 1:44 later giving Belhaven a 2-0 lead.
 
The Bucs gained composure in the 24th minute as Caitlyn Donegan scored making the score 2-1. In the 27th minute CBU's Sarah Catherine Ryan tied the game 2-2 with an unassisted goal.
 
In the second half, Belhaven took the lead 3-2 in the 49th minute as Christin Kaim came out and scored off a pass from Trawick. In the 80th minute of the contest the Bucs answered back as Donegan scored her second goal of the game thanks to an assist from Anna Laskarzewska.
 
Due to aggressive defense, neither team would score in the first or second overtime. The final and official score of the game was a 3-3 double overtime tie.
 
The Blazers will return to the field Tuesday night at 5 p.m. as they take on the University of Mobile at H.T. Newell Field.
