Jackson, MS-The Belhaven men's soccer team kept their undefeated record intact, knocking off Lee University 1-0 Friday afternoon in “The Bowl”. The Blazers only score of the game came on a penalty kick by Juan Rodriguez with about 32 minutes to go in the second half. It was Rodriguez's team leading 13^th goal of the season and 29^th point of the year. With the win, Belhaven's record improves to 13-0-1 on the season while Lee falls to 5-6-1 on the year.

 

The game was a hard fought defensive battle as both sides did a great job of keeping the ball out their own zone. Belhaven had eight total shots the entire game including the penalty kick and five shots on goal. The stats on the other side of the ledger for Lee looked similar with nine total shot attempts and four shots on goal. Belhaven goalkeeper Zach Wallace made four saves to preserve the victory.

 

The Blazers will wrap up the regular season with four straight road games beginning this Tuesday at the University of Mobile. The Blazers are ranked eighth in the latest NAIA Top 25 men's soccer poll Tuesday's kickoff is slated for 7 PM.
