Jackson, MS-The Belhaven women's soccer team kept their season alive Thursday afternoon defeating the University of Mobile 1-0 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Semifinals. The Lady Blazers improved to 11-6-1 on the season while Mobile finishes the year at 6-8-4.
Belhaven's defense was good again for the second straight game against the Lady Rams. Mobile only had four shots on goal for the entire match. The Lady Rams also played well defensively holding the Lady Blazers to only three shots on goal. Fortunately for Belhaven, one of those three attempts found the back of the net.

Sarah Benson scored the lone goal in the 13
th minute off an assist from
Dana Sullivan. It was Benson's fifth goal and Sullivan's second assist of the season. Benson took four of the eight shots by the Lady Blazers and had two of the three shots on goal. Sullivan's assist netted her another point this season giving her 18, which is good for the team lead. Belhaven Goalkeeper
Kristin Parson made four outstanding saves in route to her second consecutive shutout.
Thursday's victory places the Lady Blazers in the GCAC final against the host school William Carey University who beat LSU-Shreveport 3-0 in the other semifinal match. The Lady Blazers were 0-2 in against the Lady Crusaders in the regular season. Friday's match is scheduled for 6 PM.
