Cleveland, MS-The Blazers hot streak continued Saturday afternoon as Belhaven picked up win number eight of the season defeating Delta State 2-1. It was the seventh win in a row, with the Blazers only non-win of the year being a 1-1 tie against Covenant College back on August 30th.

Belhaven opened up the scoring when David Mckay's corner kick was headed in by Juan Rodriguez to make it 1-0 in the 14th minute. It was Rodriguez's second goal of the week and a team leading seventh on the season. Belhaven ended up attempting 14 corner kicks in the game.

Delta State would get their only goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 27th minute by David Smith to knot the score at one apiece. The Blazers would take the lead for good as Kevin Wittmann found the back of the net in minute 82. The game winner by Wittman was his first goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Zach Wallace earned his eighth win of the season as the Blazers now stand at 8-0-1 on the season. Belhaven, who is ranked 16th in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, will return home to face Crichton College at H.T. Newell field Wednesday night beginning at 7.
