Jackson, Miss-The Belhaven women's soccer team couldn't muster any offense against a solid Spring Hill College defense as the Lady Blazers fell 2-0 Thursday night in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action. Belhaven drops to 7-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play while Spring Hill jumps to 8-3 and 1-2 in the GCAC.
The lady Blazers only managed to generate four shots on goal while the Lady Badgers fired six shots at Goalkeeper
Kristin Parson. Unfortunately for Belhaven, two of those shots found the back of the net of the foot of Abby Galen in the 15
th minute and then Kasey Pruett in the 51
st minute. The Lady Blazers had a couple of scoring chances with one shot glancing off the post and another off the crossbar. Kayla McCrory turned away four others to keep Belhaven off the board.
The Lady Blazers will return to action Saturday night at H.T. Newell field in another GCAC contest against the University of Mobile. The game was originally scheduled for 6 in the bowl but will now be played at Newell beginning at 7.
