This week's "C Spire Athlete of the Week" is Deon Bedford of the men's basketball team. Bedford, a senior forward from Maben, Miss, scored a combined 38 points and missed only one field goal in two games, leading the Blazers to a 2-0 week. Bedford was 12 for 12 against Blue Mountain from the field and 4 for 5 against Spring Hill for a grand total of 16 for 17 from the floor. Bedford fired in a season high 27 points against the Toppers after beginning the week with 11 against Spring Hill. In addition, he grabbed 11 rebounds including eight against Blue Mountain and blocked four shots. Bedford is second on the team in scoring this year at 11.9 points per game.
