One of this weeks "Cellular South Athletes of the Week" is Kiara Johnson of the women's basketball team. Johnson, a junior guard from Wiggins, MS, helped scored 15 points, had five rebounds, seven assists and six steals in a 70-67 overtime win against 15th ranked Xavier which was their first win over Xavier since 1999. Johnson had 16 points against UNO and scored 31 total points and had 11 more steals this week. Johnson is averaging 11.9 points per game and has 58 steals ranking her 5th in the NAIA in that category. She also had nine more assists and leads the Blazers with 60 this season. Johnson was also named the Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her efforts.
