This week's C Spire Blazers Athlete of the Week is Jason Hicks of the baseball team. Hicks, a senior from Brandon, MS, arguably had his best week of the season collecting 10 hits that included three home runs and nine runs batted in. In game two of the three game series against AUM, Hicks two run home run in the fifth ended up being the game winner as Belhaven held on for a 3-2 win. In game three of the series, Hicks blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the eight to tie the game at 11-11 and send it to extra innings where Belhaven won 14-13. In the 10th after AUM had scored two runs, Hicks led off the bottom of the 10th to start the rally. On the season, Hicks batting .388 with nine doubles, five home runs, and 27 RBI. Hicks is 14th in the NAIA in home runs.
