JACKSON, Miss. - Diego Sarzalejo scored on a bicycle kick in the first half, and Justin Ramirez saved a penalty kick late in the second as Belhaven defeated Millsaps 1-0 in the Riverside Derby on Tuesday night at Belhaven Bowl Stadium.

The win was Belhaven's sixth straight, matching the program's longest streak since its 2024 CCS championship run. The Blazers won six in a row from Oct. 15 through Nov. 9 that season, ending the stretch with a 2-0 victory at Covenant in the conference title match. Tuesday's result was also Belhaven's fifth consecutive win over Millsaps and its second straight 1-0 victory in the series.

Ramirez was busy early, stopping three shots in the first half, including two from Zachary Diamond. Belhaven had chances of its own: Ricardo Flores forced a save in the 18th minute, and Wyatt Dupre hit the woodwork in the 23rd.

Sarzalejo broke the deadlock at 35:07, scoring off an assist from Flores to send the Blazers into halftime ahead 1-0.

Millsaps pressed after the break, taking seven shots and earning six corner kicks in the second half. Ramirez saved an Alden Romano attempt in the 81st minute, then delivered the decisive stop when he turned away Ellis Dykes' penalty kick at 81:44. Belhaven held on for its second consecutive shutout.

Ramirez finished with five saves, while Ciaran Colvin played all 90 minutes in the Blazers' back line. Millsaps held a 12-11 edge in shots and a 10-4 advantage in corners. Sarzalejo and Dupre took two shots apiece for Belhaven.

The Blazers return to CCS play this Saturday at Covenant. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
