JACKSON, Miss. - Wyatt Dupre scored twice and seven other Blazers found the net as Belhaven beat Tougaloo, 9-0, Wednesday night at Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
Tougaloo goalkeeper Kemar Vernon stopped early shots from Luke Finley and Mason Reed, but Finley put Belhaven ahead at 16:48 after Vernon saved an attempt by Adrian Sanchez. Sanchez scored three minutes later on a penalty kick to make it 2-0.
Belhaven added two goals before halftime. Graham Harris scored off a pass from Zachary Howard at 41:54, and CJ Cruit set up Dupre at 44:11 to send the Blazers into the break with a 4-0 lead.
Reed scored in the 59th minute to open the second half. Harris assisted Dupre's second goal at 64:09, and Miguel Magagnin added another at 66:23. Courtland Williams, assisted by Jared Aguilar, and Thomas Ney, assisted by Tyler Milioto, scored the final two goals.
Belhaven outshot Tougaloo, 27-4, and held a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Blazers also earned seven corner kicks to Tougaloo's two. Dupre finished with three shots and two goals, while Harris had a goal and an assist.
Justin Ramirez made two saves in 69 minutes. Bear Garrett played the final 21 minutes as the two combined for the shutout.
The Blazers travel to Batesville, Ark., to face Lyon on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
