JACKSON, Miss. - Maryanna Guy added another national honor to a standout first season with Belhaven Softball.
The junior transfer from NCAA Division I Longwood was named a NFCA Division III Second Team All-American, becoming the fourth player in program history to earn NFCA Division III All-America honors. Guy's selection also extends Belhaven's streak to five consecutive seasons with at least one NFCA Division III All-American.
Guy has been one of the top hitters in Division III this season, leading the Blazers with a .419 batting average, 65 hits, 16 doubles, 11 home runs, 57 RBI, 116 total bases, a .748 slugging percentage and a .495 on-base percentage.Â
She helped power the Blazers to a second straight CCS Tournament title, then continued to deliver throughout NCAA postseason play. In the Belhaven Regional, she hit .364 with a home run and five RBI as the Blazers advanced to the Super Regional round. She followed that with a three-run home run in the Jackson Super Regional clincher against Wisconsin-Oshkosh, helping send Belhaven back to the NCAA Division III Finals for the second time in the last three seasons.
Guy joins Kennedy Carruth, Allie Gordon and
Ellie Jones as the only NFCA Division III All-Americans in program history.

Guy and the Blazers enter the NCAA Division III Finals at 42-10 overall after winning the CCS Championship, the Belhaven Regional and the Jackson Super Regional. The Blazers, the No. 7 seed in the NCAA Final, will host No. 2 seed, and defending National Champions Trine, in the first round on Thursday at 3:00 PM CT
