ATLANTA, Ga. - The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) announced its Men's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday, with Belhaven earning both honors.
Junior guard
CJ Minton was named CCS Player of the Week, while freshman guard
Braylon Dame earned Rookie of the Week recognition. It marks Minton's second Player of the Week honor this season and Dame's third Rookie of the Week award.
Player of the Week - CJ Minton
CJ Minton provided steady leadership for Belhaven during a three-game stretch in conference play, averaging 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. Over the week, Minton totaled 15 assists and four steals, while shooting 73 percent from the free-throw line.
He scored a season-best 26 points at Huntingdon last Tuesday and scored 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting against Maryville.
Rookie of the Week - Braylon Dame
Freshman guard
Braylon Dame turned in a solid week in conference action, averaging 12.3 points and 2.3 rebounds across three games. Dame played a key role in Belhaven's victory over Piedmont, providing consistent scoring from the backcourt.
Dame scored in double-digits at Huntingdon and vs. Piedmont this week, connecting on four three-pointers.
Belhaven returns to action on Thursday as the Blazers head to Asbury. Tip-off is set for 6:00 PM.
