JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven Women's Basketball delivered one of its most complete performances of the season Tuesday evening, racing past Huntingdon 73-44 inside Rugg Arena. The Blazers improved to 16-6 overall and 9-5 in CCS play with the end-to-end victory.
Katelyn Coleman led the way with 24 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
Kiersten Hudson added 11 points,
Veronica Williams finished with nine points and six rebounds, and
Amanda Walker scored eight off the bench. The Blazers placed 10 players in the scoring column in the victory.
Belhaven shot 47.4 percent from the field, knocked down six three-pointers, and dominated the glass with a 51-31 rebounding edge. The Blazers also forced 20 turnovers and held Huntingdon to just 20.5 percent shooting for the game.
First Quarter
Belhaven set the tone immediately with defensive pressure and transition offense. After early misses by Makayla Ford and Deshauna Foote, the Blazers ignited a 14-0 run midway through the quarter.

Kiersten Hudson converted a fast-break layup, and
Katelyn Coleman scored on back-to-back transition finishes to push the lead into double digits.
Ford answered late with a three-pointer, but Belhaven closed strong.
Jasi Jenkins finished inside and
Allison Liddell capped the period with a fast-break layup in the final seconds as the Blazers built a 22-8 advantage after one.
Second Quarter
Huntingdon trimmed the margin early in the second behind Ford and Charity Shaw, cutting the lead to nine following a three from Erica Rodriguez. Belhaven responded with poise.
Amanda Walker sparked the next surge, scoring on a fast-break layup and a mid-range jumper to help fuel an 8-0 run. Coleman added free throws and a finish inside, and
Tra'Shaylah Wilson knocked down two from the line to stretch the lead back to 20. Belhaven carried a 39-19 lead into halftime.
Third Quarter
Belhaven put the game out of reach in the third. Williams opened the half with a three-pointer, and Coleman followed with a fast-break layup to spark a 9-2 run. After Abby Byrd briefly stopped the momentum with a jumper, Hudson buried consecutive three-pointers during a decisive stretch that pushed the margin to 25.
Sanders hit a three and scored in transition for Huntingdon, but Belhaven answered every push.
RaMya King scored twice inside late in the quarter, extending the lead to 60-34 heading into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
The Blazers maintained control throughout the final period. Wilson scored inside early, and Coleman added a pair of finishes in the paint to keep the margin above 20. Ford converted a layup and Foote added a three-point play during a brief Huntingdon push, but Belhaven quickly countered.
Williams knocked down a three with 3:47 remaining to cap a 9-2 run, and Wilson followed with two free throws to extend the lead to 27. Coleman added the final basket for the Blazers as Belhaven closed out the 29-point win.
Belhaven returns to action later this week as conference play continues. The Blazers host Wesleyan this Friday. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM.
