LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Belhaven Men's Soccer team played to a hard-fought 1-1 draw against LaGrange College on Saturday at Panther Field, extending their unbeaten streak to five games against the Panthers.
Belhaven broke the deadlock in the 79th minute when
Adrian Sanchez scored his first goal of the season, giving the Blazers a temporary 1-0 lead after sustained pressure in the second half. LaGrange responded quickly, with Jacob Sagstuen connecting on a pass from Lucas Duke just five minutes later to even the score at 1-1. That would be the final result, marking Belhaven's second draw of the season.
The Blazers outshot the Panthers 12-7 and recorded four corner kicks to LaGrange's five, controlling much of the action in the second half. Goalkeeper
Danny Bahena made three key saves to preserve the tie and maintain Belhaven's defensive composure.
This result brings Belhaven's record to 4-2-3 overall. Belhaven will return home to Belhaven Bowl Stadium for their next contest, looking to build momentum in conference play as they host Huntingdon on Wednesday.
