Women's Soccer Blanks Huntingdon 4-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team put together a dominant performance on the road Wednesday night, shutting out Huntingdon 4-0 at the Samford Soccer Complex.

Belhaven wasted little time applying pressure, getting 15 shots in the first 45 minutes. The breakthrough goal in the opening half came in the 21st minute when Lauren Snell finished a pass from Emma Antonoplos to give the Blazers a 1-0 lead. Goalkeeper Addi Roberts kept Huntingdon off the board with a pair of saves to preserve the lead heading into halftime.

The Blazers erupted for three goals in the second half to put the match out of reach. Just over a minute into the second half, Antonoplos finished a cross from Alyssa Wilson to double the lead. She struck again for her fourth career multi-goal game, to give the Blazers a 3-0 lead.

Faith Dreyer capped the scoring with a goal in the 74th minute.

Belhaven out-shot Huntingdon 33-9, including a 17-5 advantage in shots on goals. Roberts recorded her second shutout this season in net, while Ella Field closed it out with one save in the final 11 minutes.

The Blazers improve to 4-3-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The team returns home on Saturday to take on Piedmont. Kickoff is set for 2:00 PM.
