LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team dropped their Collegiate Conference of the South opener on Saturday at Covenant by a 4-0 scoreline.
The Blazers and Scots nearly saw the first quarter of an hour go by scoreless in Georgia, but a 14th minute penalty to the hosts would kick off a 15 minute spell that would see Covenant take control of the match. In the 14th minute, Covenant opened the scoring from the penalty spot before doubling their lead in the 23rd minute.
Covenant would make it three just three minutes later and take a 3-0 lead to the break. On the other side of halftime, the Blazers kept pace with the Scots but couldn't find the breakthrough before Covenant would go on to seal the match with a fourth goal.
The loss sees Belhaven fall to 3-3-2 on the season and open up conference play with a defeat. Next up for the Blazers is a midweek trip to Huntingdon as Belhave will face the Hawks on Wednesday with kickoff set for 6:00 PM.
