ATLANTA, Ga. - A trio of members of the Belhaven Tennis program have been named among the Collegiate Conference of the South All-Conference teams announced by the league on Thursday.
Maximo Estrada and
Harshith Anugonda of the Belhaven Men as well as
Khliyah McCaskill-Ford of the Belhaven Women earned recognition.
Khliyah McCaskill-Ford was named to the All-CCSÂ Women's Tennis Sportsmanship Team following her season with the Belhaven Women. The sophomore from Memphis helped serve as a leader for the Belhaven Women on and off the court as they continued their growth as a team.
Maximo Estrada was named to the All-CCSÂ Men's Tennis First Team and All-CCS Sportsmanship Team following a strong first season with the Blazers. Playing as the Blazers' No. 1 singles competitor for much of the season, Estrada went 8-6 overall on the year and 6-3 against Division III opposition. In conference play, Estrada went 4-2 as an individual and across the season, also often paired with
Josiah Leggett in the Blazers' No. 2 Doubles spot, going 6-5 overall.
Harshith Anugonda was named the CCS Men's Tennis Rookie of the Year and was a part of the All-CCS Second Team in his first year with the Blazers. Anugonda went 3-3 in conference action this season playing as the Blazers' No. 2 singles competitor and racked up six wins overall in his first campaign. Four of Anugonda's six wins came against Division III opposition and the rookie also combined for a pair of wins with
Mark Matviiev in the Blazers' top doubles squad.
The Belhaven Men will continue their season on Friday in the CCS Championships against top seed Asbury after the Blazers knocked off Maryville in the quarterfinal round 4-2.Â
