WILMORE, Ky. - The 15th-ranked Belhaven Softball earned a doubleheader sweep in the regular season finale on Friday, taking down Asbury 10-5 and 6-3 to improve to 28-7 and 14-2 in conference play.
Game One (W, 10-5)
Belhaven jumped out to an early advantage in the opener behind an RBI single from
Anna Caime and a sacrifice fly from
Colby Hollinger in the first inning. The Blazers added two more in the second with a two-run double off the bat of
Jordan Kanipe.
The Green and Gold blew things open in the following inning with back-to-back home runs from Caime and Hollinger before
Lauren Dunbar lined an RBI double and came around to score to put the Blazers in front 8-0 heading into the fourth.
Dunbar added another with an RBI single in the fifth, and
Hilary Pillaro scored on a passed ball to extend the lead to 10-1. The hosts scored four over the final three innings, but Castleman and Funderburk closed the door in the seventh to secure a 10-5 victory.

Game Two (W, 6-3)
The Blazers had to come from behind in the second game of the day to pick up the win. After
Ellie Jones' sac fly got Belhaven on the board first, Asbury scored a run in the first and two in the third to take a 3-1 lead.
Colby Hollinger homered for the second time on Friday to cut the lead to 3-2 in the fourth, and the Blazers would erupt for four runs in the sixth to grab the lead.
Madi Miller put Belhaven ahead with a two-run double before Jones hit a two-run shot to give the Green and Gold a 6-3 advantage.
Macy Funderburk set the Eagles down in order in the seventh to lock up another conference win and sweep for the Blazers.

The Blazers currently sit in second place in the CCS Standings with the final games throughout the league concluding tomorrow. Belhaven is poised to earn a first-round bye in the CCS Tournament and will open up play in the Quarterfinal round on May 1st.
